Patience and Plums

Happy Friday!
Can I get a woot woot!

Earlier this week, the girls and I had to get busy picking our plums before it froze.
And it did!
It's officially chilly in our neck of the woods.

While we were picking the plums, I couldn't help but giggle and thank the Lord for our bountiful load of plums.

This is the first year this plum tree has ever given us plums.

I have threatened to chop it down every summer for 6 years.

I'm sure glad my hubbie has more patience than I do.

It made me think about different areas in my life
where I've threatened to "chop down the tree."

As my girls and I sing
"Be patient,
Be patient
Don't be in such a hurry.
When you are
Impatient
It only makes you worry."

Are you losing patience over something?
Be patient my friend!

Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Does anyone have any good plum recipes?

Have a fabulous weekend!

  1. we had so many plums this year a whole ton of them went to waste! the chickens even got to eat some!

you could always make some plum jam!! my kids usually just gobble them down like crazy! and that makes it easy for me....then i don't have to make anything. because, i kind of hate cooking ;-)

  4. We had so many fruit trees growing up and I have great memories of picking all the fruit.
My mom makes batches of plum jam every year and it is the best! I love it because it is a bit tart.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

patience is not my virtue, girl, but God has used life circumstances to teach me in so many ways, and i love that.
